I don't even know how to describe what they did to him, but it was unbelievable cruelty for the pettiest of reasons, and it resulted in his mind snapping. He ended up taking interest in me due to our situations being somewhat similar, and then interest in my father because he offered to fix him.

We were successful at that, eventually.
