My father did— he specialized in the type of construct KaITO was, so he was able to repair what his creators had damaged.

[he pronounces the name a little differently from his own, with more emphasis on the second syllable]

It didn't make everything better. He still had to live with the memories of what was done to him, and what he had done to others, and that sort of thing leaves its own damage. But he stopped being a danger to himself and others.

Not quite— it's spelled differently. That sort of coincidence was fairly common at home, though; there was a set of ten or so names and faces that nearly everyone seemed to fall into. It made for some spectacular cases of mistaken identity.

You don't know the half of it. It makes dealing with some of this place's mischief a good deal easier, though; I'm so used to recognizing people by things other than their faces that things like... I don't know, body alterations don't give me too much pause.

Ah— his name is Harvey. I only met him the once, but he looks more or less like me without the scarring and with brown hair and eyes instead.
